Purpose
The driving force
of the Group for Evangelisation is the God given task of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
We seek to do this together 'that the world might believe'.
The Group exists to serve the church. As a Co-ordinating Group of Churches Together in England it brings together the key people who have responsibility to see that task fulfilled in our own generation in order to:
- Exchange information
- Encourage co-operation
- Stimulate prayer
- Enable sharing, enrichment and mutual guidance
- Provide help, stimulus and information
- Exploring the nature of the Gospel in our modern age
- Promoting reflection on long term trends and developments

The Group has identified for major areas of work:
- Reaffirming the centrality of evangelism to the church's ministry
- Encouraging new and creative means of making the Gospel known
- Discerning what new forms of church are appropriate for evangelising today's post modern society.
- Engaging evangelistically with the spirituality of those who do not go to church.
Reflecting this, two large initiatives have been undertaken by the group in behalf of the wider church in the last 12 months. First was the tour 'Equipping your church in a Spiritual Age' which produced the books photographed above. The second was the Mission 21 conference on Church Planting and Fresh Expressions.
However, most of the Group's purpose is worked in ongoing groups and projects as per the Events page. It is a quiet work which goes on in the background, usually unnoticed as it co-ordinates the work of other people rather than it's own activity.
